Yoga Class Descriptions
FOUNDATIONS OF YOGA
Join the wonderful Melissa Wheeler for this alignment-based, gentle workshop class by the river, to invite you into an even healthier version of yourself.
This drop-in class is for anyone wishing to revisit the foundations of Pathanjali's teachings of Yoga. The classes start you off at an easy pace to aid you through your asanas (postures) in a way that is compassionate to your body. This is of particular importance when first learning or returning to yoga after some time away. Like all our classes, we offer yoga in an consensual way, inviting you to access ways to explore your body without projecting a yoga experience (or personality) on you. Our teachers live yoga and are initiated in traditional Hatha after receiving training in India and teaching in Australia.
Breathe and let go for a moment or two, by the river, with the sun drifting off to your left. Let the yoga do its job as we honor the simplicity of an internalized practice, outside in pubic. Feel your worries melt away as you reach Shavasana and complete relaxation by the river, or use the class as a good workout for the evening ahead.

Get out in the fresh air for these cozy evening classes with Indian/Himalayan trained Yoga teacher Stefania Galliero, who leads classes with love at the centre.
Whilst geared towards the intermediate practitioner, the classes are about meeting you where you at, gently challenging and exploring new areas and movements to evoke more peace and feeling of well-being by the end of it.
These classes are designed to build on the foundations teachings delivered on a Monday. We can show you how to use blocks, straps and blankets to assist in making postures more comfortable and accessible.

This outdoor Vinyasa class is for students and locals living near Crawley and North-Western suburbs of Perth. Bounce back and celebrate the week with friends in Yoga. Join Matthew Yap for 1 hour of traditional, morning flow Hatha, looking out over our River near UWA. Matt offered the following words on yoga, exemplified by his teachings: "Yoga is an act of love, not a transactional movement."
Experience yoga as a guided exercise and wellness tool or as a self exploration with your breath and cultivating ease through shape-making. Yoga is (among many things) a celebration of life, feeling good and experiencing freedom. In this class you will move through a wide variety of asanas rhythmically, at a kind pace. Enjoy the shade of the trees and experience what a bit of fresh air and yoga on the grass can do for you.
| MORNING FLOW HATHA |

Join any one of our teachers out in the fresh air for a grounding, energising Hatha Flow practice. The class takes place October - May, facing the Swan River, on the grass at Sir James Mitchell Park overlooking Perth City.
Learn popularized, Vinyasa sequences of asanas without the rigidity of Ashtanga or Bikram dominating the learning. Receive guidance using core muscular and energetic locks, drishti (focused-gaze), correct alignment, breath-work and a deep commitment to self-love. Our Sunday morning classes are the most dynamic and popular classes we offer. People of all ages and backgrounds come out to join the rest of the community down by the river. This class is family friendly and open to children aged 7-17 years old. Hatha is an age old practice of controlling the subtle, taught within the format of a flow class for familiarity and consistency.
As with all our classes, we foster safe space, mutual respect, diversity, inclusion and agency of choice to you whilst we deliver the traditional teachings of Pathanjali in the modern forms of Hatha, and Raja (meditation) based Yoga.
HATHA IN THE PARK

Join Matthew, Stefania and Melissa Wheeler as they offer you their styles of traditionally taught Hatha in our modern context and setting. The classes take place all year round, facing the Swan River, on the grass at Sir James Mitchell Park. The Winter and Spring season of classes will this year be taught by Melissa who gives us Power Hatha, a playfully challenging delve into Indian Hatha techniques.
A strong Hatha practice embodies principles of Yin and Yang, without needing to differentiate the extremes. 'Hatha' means 'Sun and Moon' and is a traditional form of Yoga that many (arguably all) modern day practices have stemmed from. Beginners are welcome and eased into unfamiliar moves. The class is for adults 18 years and older.
